I believe America’s stance on the Affordable Care Act should adhere to our core beliefs in championing private enterprise and competition. Under the ACA we have seen a rising number of insured Americans but premiums still continue to be unaffordable for many. To combat this, I propose adding refundable tax credits for Americans without employer-provided insurance as part of my plan to gradually reform the ACA. It is important that we approach this issue cautiously as an immediate repeal of the ACA would be more detrimental than leaving it intact, leaving thousands uninsured as we scrambled to come up with a shoddy replacement.
